Gameplay from Final Fight on Capcom Classics Collection for Xbox. Retro Gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's more a case of me speaking my thoughts while playing the games, many for the first time, and most for the first time in a very long time... so it's all a little spontaneous and random.
Predictably, as I never practice before recording, I usually play very badly.

Given that I am playing many of these games for the first time, and everything I say is completely off the cuff, you probably shouldn't take what I say overly seriously. The opinions that I express are my feelings at the time, but it's entirely possible that they would be different if I were to take the time to get to grips with the game.

However, given that these videos are intended to show that "first time experience", I believe they have some validity or merit.

  • I've been watching the new V and its ok but I still prefer the original. The new series is dragging on to much. Since Lost came out we have these new generation of series where they drag everything out and it becomes boring and frustrating. I watch the new version of The Prisoner starring Ian McKellen and it was pants and again longwinded. Give me the Patrick McGoohan version any day. (excuse my old fogey rant there).

  • @DLiberator78 Modern Blattlestar Galactica on the other hand was really awesome, as is Dr Who.

  • Final Fight is the king of scrolling fighters. It's still such an impressive, playable experience. I don't think it'll ever be outdated because the whole design is so effective.

The GBA version is excellent - a must have. The MegaCD version lacks colours, but it's a really solid version and has an awesome CD quality remixed soundtrack. The SNES version was nice enough back in the day, but lacked all the characters and had less sprites on the screen.

  • @kingstonlj I didn't know it was on the BGA as well. I'll have to look out for that one.

  • 1980s subway level that is falling apart? Must be New York:)

  • @agentk1986 Yeah. If it was the London underground, it would've looked like 1880s ;)

  • trust me when this came out in the arcades it was the bees knees

  • The woman in handcuffs is actually a guy .

  • Thanks for sharing this Steve, I think it was available on the Megadrive via the MegaCD. To be honest I used to play this in the arcade back in the day and it was great, the 16bit console era never did this justice the Xbox version is arcade perfect as it the newly release Xbox360 version recently available on Xbox Arcade which I have downloaded. :) Love the game over bit with the dynamite lol.

  • @kingstonlj My fave during its time at home would be the MegaCD version ... missing colors not even noticeable for someone as young as I was and the extra levels and Guy sold me on it being the best.

    Aberran

  • One of my favourite side scrolling beat-em-ups of all time.

I still play this quite a bit on MAME =)

  • @SteveBenway
