As an amateur, I have to say that this Quansheng TG-UV2 is very good.. Dual band and it's affordable.

@ryanperry90; Well guess what- after doing a lot of shopping around and looking at many more expensive HTs (including the popular Kenwood TH-F6A) I finally settled on this Quansheng dual-bander tg-uv2, sent the order in this morning. Haven't seen any outright negative reviews and you just can;t beat the price for 2 band coverage, plus its compatible with a lot of Kenwood misc. hardware, and just seemed like the right deal overall. Just what I need in 2 meter and 70 cm coverage.

You can find help in the manual, think about to activate sub tones, and repeater shift. Find information on internet about repeaters in your neighborhood.
