  • Great tutorial, thanks! This was the first time that I've ever used Illustrator and I was able to create my own 8bit design.

I had one problem though. When it came to deleting the grid, I couldn't select individual squares but instead my selection would select entire rows right across the image. I must be missing some basic Illustrator preference or settings. I'm using CS5.

  • @ArtistEngineer try right-clicking the entire object and seeing if you can "ungroup" it.

  • Thanks!

  • @earlex1996 NP.

  • is this in photoshop?

  • @TheAmtrakk nope, Illustrator

  • what version of adobe illustrator are you using?

  • There is no available download on your website for this tutorial.

  • whats website called

  • Thumbs up if you use the same step!!

  • oh thnx i used this in minecraft,..

  • i dont have the livefill option thingy please help

  • one thing you can do also is go to paint, open the image, and fill the boxes with the colors you want with the fill button. this is better but you have to download it. :(

  • @QuintalDesigns Actually, looking closer at your grid, I notice that there are dots at each intersection. I've only got those dots around the frame of the grid. I think this could be the difference that's causing the last part of the tutorial to fail for me.
