I am in this contest called emotions run wild and I the clips i have are in .avi format because movies that i download from torrent sites I can never find a movie in a format that final cut effects can you help me I want to convert all my movies from .avi to the format final cut understands sony vegas sucks even on my mac with a virtual version of windows on it with VMware fusion I don't see many vidoes like this done in final cut most are done in sony vegas please can you help me?

@gunneos it does so I can do videos like I was doing before in sony vegas if so that would be so cool I want to test final cut to see what effects it has and what I can do with it I just hate that sony vegas goes out a lot and it does not render my videos all the time it will say low on memory when I know i am not low on memory at all. one thing is how do you add your username in final cut at the bottom like you can in sony vegas? and do you have to render the video when it is .avi.

@Magickslider i don't know how sony vegas works, but rendering in fcp for me takes hours. you can add text at the bottom of the video if that's what you mean. you have to render the avi video in the timeline while you're editing in order to playback and see the effects

I what effects are there for final cut? are there newbluefx for final cut like there is in sony vegas?

@Magickslider i am not sure about that, i've never used sony vegas, and i don't know what newbluefx is
