A live demonstration of the next generation Digital Emergency Alert System (DEAS) at a public event by senior White House and FEMA officials. DEAS utilized the SpectraRep AlertManager system to succesfully transmit Common Alerting Protocol messages for use by the Emergency Alert System (EAS), and other partner systems, including mobile phone alerting. AlertManager transported CAP EAS messaging over a range of distribution technologies, including satellite, digital television data broadcast, and secure Internet connectivity. John Lawson, President of the Association of Public Television Stations (APTS) guides the audience through the demonstration of the system, which shows EAS activation alongside delivery of alerts and multimedia to broadcast EAS for TV, radio and cable systems, cell phones, computers and XM satellite radio..
