I believed some games were fixed (like extending the series, star treatment) to benefit the league (money & revenue) and the fans (thinking Game 7 will be awesome). No matter what company, community or even a government, there's always a word BUSINESS! It's all about business and money and human are certainly prone in temptation especially MONEY. Sad but true.

If Government is corrupt, what more to any business like the NBA, anything is possible!

It was COMPLETELY fixed... the Lakers shot 27 fts in the 4th QUARTER ALONE... More than the Kings THE ENTIRE GAME... Shaq only got 4 fouls while Pollard, Divac, Webber and Funderburke got 20... This was so fixed it's not even funny.

The Kings were the real champions of 2002 .

Taylor, I'm sorry, but you need to do some research... Donaghy is not full of shit... the evidence is everywhere... Look at the Heat/ Mavericks series from 06 or Game 7 of the Celtics/ Lakers last year...

@TeamDime7 not jus that, but ALSO, Boston had made the Eastern Finals. They were hopin to get a big boston vs LAL matchup again, but Sac had a bigger uphill battle cuz of LAL's "star"power at the time. And dont ever call that team the showtime lakers. its not true and a disgrace to the real Showtime Lakers wit Magic who are legends, and they were definitely NOT the Showtime lakers/era. Nothin too 'showy' about shaq backin down in a strate line to the basket, and kobe ball hoggin.

the notion that Tim Donaghy made those allegations to try to get his sentence reduced is a farce, and wud only appeal to ignorant people, becuz he made those allegations UNDER OATH to the FBI. If he is in FACT proven wrong, he wud jus get an even worse sentence than before and another criminal charge.

@collector26 You damn Right! Its all about money which means they shaped and manipulated games....2002 belonged to the Kings. 2001 sixers had it, TOO MANY DAMN FOULS. The series against the timberwolves with KG was also fixed. I remember it too. Still till this day the refs are fixing games, East coast West coast rivalry is bullshit! So many fouls its slowing the games down especially with the lakers.Games should be how they play them in FIBA. Those officials are fair without ticky tack fouls!

i'm not gonna say the whole NBA is fixed but there is sum screwy shit goin on and i do beleive and hav thot for a while that the Lakers are the most favored team and sumtimes it really looks like they get away with murder. The NBA does show favoritism to players and teams. yea witout a doubt i think the NBA is fixed. I was age 12 as well when watching. I was thinkin what is going on wheres the calls n shit...but then thought thers no way the NBA would fix a game like that. but wen you look at that game and the circumstances of why the game might b fixed, it makes sense. a 3-peat by the showtime lakers a number 2 market....would make a shitload compared to a 20 market team underdog sacramento. when you watch game 6...you see thatthers no way in hell it wasnt fixed.
