Love the sound of those Wright motors, beats the obnoxious sound of a jet any day!!! Long live piston engined planes!!!

@sssnowday - The same reason you don't keep your boot into it when you're cruising down the highway in your car. Piston engines, man.

P.S. What is the whistling sound just before the power up?

The first time I flew anywhere on my own I was a 21 year old nervous flyer. The route PER - LHR via SIN, the aircraft a747 - 400. I remember cruising and finding the rumble of the engines comforting. Then I found this. That symphony at take off punches deep into the soul, evoking images of the glamour that flying once was. The burble or those engines would gently send me off to sleep, on that fantastic long journey to the motherland.

They seem to reduce a lot the trottle once in the air. Why can't they keep the engine full trottle?

Did a buffer panel just fly off my goram ship?!

Took a half hour flight on this the other week......smells like an old car...lol...luv this plane.

Cool. Great video.

Now thats a plane they should have kept

Love the drone sound in the last 10 seconds (after trottle back and level flight?). That's what you used to hear from the ground.

My Dad left West-Berlin in 1954 from Tempelhof-AP on board of a PAN AM-Connie sitting at wing position like the video shows. Engine #2 caught fire at full throttle therefore take off was aborted but nobody got nervous or even scared. The batch was extinguished quickly and after a repair break of only three hours she worked properly again and went back to air. Fine machine!
In 1959, I flew on this bird ( I was 8 yrs. ) from LA to the Islands for Dads Air Force job and man, was I overcome with airplanes at that point of my life.
I am a pilot, now.
Love the whole video. THANKYOU for the reminder.

I've flown on the "Save-A-Connie" Super "H" Constellation three times between Kansas City and Chicago back in the 1990's. All your sound effects here bring back memories of those precious flying memories!
