i was gona ask the same thing.. i just relized some dobermans have very very short tails.. and others like yours have long.. whats up with that??

Dobermans are THE dogs. I feel pity for them because of their genetic disfunctions and short lifespan, but they are really protective dogs and if treated right they are the best.

They have a bad reputation as "mean" dogs though ... There's no such thing as mean dogs, just mean owners who neglect their dogs. They do however look very intimidating, especially with cropped ears(don't crop them though), I doubt anybody dares f- with you if you have one as your pal and comrade :-)

Tail is cut(called docking) because in can get injured in working dogs, and the ears are cut(called cropping) so they can hear better, and so working guard dogs couldnt get grabbed and pulled down by the ears, like handles, and there is a lower risk of getting an ear infection with cropped ears

The ears are cut so that they can locate wher ths sound is coming from and tails are cut becuase they are long and delicate.
