They are basically the same except for the graphics, Honestly CBS did a much better job with intros than NBC or ABC with the NBA. The problem is that NBC paid way more money for the NBA in 1991

If CBS gets the NBA back, they need to do these intros in the 1989 style and also do a postgame montage with the same sequence and wrap up narration as the credits roll, and incorporate the names of the credited into the animations like with NBC's SNF intro. They would have to replace the logos from the 80's with that circle they use for the NFL, SEC football and NCAA basketball logos, but even then they could use the same lettering from the 1989 intro colored white.

I do believe the maker of this video is a bit of a Laker hater. :)
