The same song was recorded by Smokie!! Before they became Smokie, during the Kindness time. Their version is absolutely amazing! You have to listen!

The 1960 version by Shirley & Lee on Warwick is not very much fun at all. Shirley's vocal acrobatics all but ruins the song. I'm not usually negitive, but this time I have no choice.

@GSMusicMoments No actually the correct name for the Cars is "Good Times Roll".
-
@NascarGoose That's a third completely different song with the same title.
-
@GSilverWorld It wasn't the wrong search. I searched Let The Good Times Roll, by The Cars, but the first video was one with three songs by the name "Let The Good Times Roll". And guess what, none of the three beat the Cars' version.

its all about The Sonics' version
-
@NascarGoose You should give yourself a knuckle in the head for not doing the search right, not to me.

The version I grew up with was the fantasic Bunny Sigler, a massive soul dance club number. Check it out!!

A very good job comparing these different version, quite unusual in you tube. The Sam Cook's version is very similar but is more blues-oriented, the same as the Rolling Stones (my favorite). Thanks GSilver!!!!

Thanks. Sam Cooke and the Stones are singing a different song - "Good Times". I want more hard rock bands to do this one here.
