BEIJING, April 27 -- Chinese brands are turning some heads at the on-going Shanghai International Auto Expo. Chinese carmakers like Geely, Chery, BYD and Huachen have muscled their way onto the floor amid such well-known brands as Audi, Mercedes, Toyota and Volkswagen.More than 50 Chinese models are featured at the Expo. Geely alone showed off 22 of them, including its top-of-the-line limousine, which boasts a sticker price of 1 million yuan.

We also want to test the market acceptance for Chinese-made middle and high level products."According to the China Automobile Industry Association, Chinese carmakers sold 426,000 vehicles in the first quarter of this year to capture a full 30 percent of the Chinese car sales market.Although the world financial crisis has put a dent in the auto industry, Chinese carmakers remain hopeful.

I have a lot of faith in the Chinese auto market. Hopefully when China's economy get's up to it's prime status they will be more influential this time a round, actually you guy's already are!

it fucking started in late 1990s and early 2000s, of course it will take a long time to go, the europeans started 200 years earlier, and Japanese about 100 years ago, and what about us? We started in the 60s, and back than the ideas is to build cars for the military and for industrial transportation, we did have any technology back than, because the Rus and the yanks would give us any, the chinese auto industry didnt really launch until the late 90s, and geesh they are doing pretty damn well.
