@a24udi my sources have come from an ex employee, I witnessed someone completely new to the hobby of fish keeping walk in there, he didn't even have a tank yet and ended up being convinced that he needed a £350 protein skimmer!!
I'm not saying they are a bad LFS at all as they do look after their livestock, I'm just saying that it's an expensive hobby and you need honesty from your supplier about what you actually need, as to wether they admit to being on commission when prompted is yet to be

I visited this shop the other day as I live close and WOW! They have some amazing stock and their display tank is prob one of the best tanks I have ever seen.

They work on commission and try and sell you as much expensive over priced stuff as possible which a lot of it you don't actually need.
I went in there when I was new to marine aquarium and they told me it would cost £2000 just to get started, I found better advice elsewhere and have a stunning setup all for £700, shop around. Birchwood aquatics in Swanley are a lot more honest and helpful.

@oOBRIGHTY84Oo Well I have need seen this n the shop when I have been there, commission I don't think they do but will ask the owner as this could be wrong and not fair if it is not true!
