Five years into one of the world's biggest humanitarian crisis, the situation in Darfur shows no signs of improving. This exclusive report - filmed inside Darfur - reveals the refugees' plight.

"I'm sick, cold, hungry," laments one refugee. "How long will this go on?" For years, the Sudanese government and janjaweed militias have been attacking civilians, trying to dislodge a rebel movement. Now, the rebel groups have turned on each other and civilians in a bid for power. "There are quite possibly more than 20 different rebel factions", explains Alun McDonald from Oxfam. "It makes negotiating peace increasingly difficult". Government official, Al-Hadi Ahem Ali, is responsible for keeping the displaced alive. But NGOs feel hampered by government bureaucracy and the worsening security situation. "A colleague was killed the day before yesterday, something like 18 drivers are missing..." complains one aid worker. No one believes Al Hadi's assurances that; "Security is OK. There is no real problem". Everyday, yet more displaced families arrive at the camps, fleeing from janjaweed raids. "They killed 37 people", laments one man. For years, these people have been promised protection by the international community. As McDonald states, after years; "They're getting increasingly frustrated."

  • The Sudanese government is horrifically corrupt. The media is suppressed because the government controls the satellites. The Egyptian government has it's own problems, and no western countries help because they are in debt to China. Unfortunately the Chinese hold control over the future of Sudan, because they have invested in Sudan's oil controlled by Sudan's corrupt government. It's an unfortunate situation to say the least, and its going to be a while before anything is done to truly help.

  • Anyone who knows the body language of lying knows the Sec Gen was lying. The lying eyes and the nervous gesticulation were telltale signs he was full of shit.

  • I do not support the racist Arab government in Sudan you fucknut. I support Hamas and Hezbollah though due to the fact they have the will, motivation and courage the fight the occupation. Sudan's government is a corrupt piece of shit which sponsors the Janjaweed militia. Wait are you about to talk shit about China intervening in Sudan and stating these black people are inferior to your 'Aryan race'?

  • is very bad,god helpe please, All tha arican tribe in sudan they need to stik togather and kick those arab Ass

  • I hate the stupid arabs in sudan who commit genocide against the blacks n the jajaweed r as cruel as ever.

  • People should not buy China made products until they stop interfering in Sudan

  • The problems here are because of Chinese interference.

  • Sudan Should be left alone. and these people in Darfur Provence of Sudan Should be told to go home and support the peace. and Be Good Citizen of Sudan.

  • You need to calm down. I'm sure you hate America just like everyone else, but you need to chill out. Do you even have any kind of foreign policy knowledge? By the way, swearing doesn't win arguments, it's a sign of intellectual weakness. That is why I suggested opening a book. So you can strengthen your vocabulary and maybe learn something more about America or even Sudan for that matter. America is not at war with Sudan and no country in the west is killing any Sudanese for oil.

  • Nothing contents in your stupid shithead! what the fuck mentioning all these TV or book, I suppset U should go and find out the actual facts, stupid young man!

  • What you just said has absolutely nothing to do with my previous comment. The west hasn't touched Sudan since back in 98'. Yes the West is killing Muslims, and they will continue to as long as President Bush has his way. Oh, Mr. Satokura, for the record, there are a lot of things that happen in this world that you do not and will never know about. Keep listening to what someone else tells you and I'll stick to the facts and research I have done. I suggest you turn off your TV and open a book.
