I was in a production of Rossini's Italian in Algiers with her some years ago . She had to sit on my knee at every performance - a buxom lass! She was so full of energy - her voice was incredible and she always seemed to find some new trill or turn to ornament and illuminate the music. We all adored her.

Possibly the best "Sveglatevi nel core" ever (although I also like Kozena, Murray, and Wunderlich). The A section is good, but it's what comes after that really makes me love it. Her use of the text in the B section is really extraordinary, and her embellishments in the da capo are so natural that they seem to be part of the music!
