NKP 765 Departure from Michigan- 10/12/2009

Nickel Plate Road 765's Departure from SRI in Owosso, MI back to home base in Ft. Wayne, IN. Footage includes: Vernon, MI (GLC), CP PITT (CN), Cohoctah, MI (GLC), Howell, MI (GLC), Ann Arbor, MI (AA- Bridge over Huron River), Milan, MI (NS- Heritage Footage).

We wish to thank all of those who made this trip happen and especially the Great Lakes Central for letting NKP 765 run without diesel assistance from Bryon, MI to the Ann Arbor Railroad connection at Osmer Jct. Ft. Wayne Railroad Historical Society for a great presentation, SRI for a spectacular Summer of Steam Railroading bringing together SP 4449, PM 1225, and NKP 765 was well as many other attractions.

Please consider the NS/NKP footage as a tribute for all of those who worked on the N&W and NKP pre- and post-merger. Thank you for your time and dedication to keep these trains moving.

Also included is CN A490 Lead by CN 5664 and BCOL 4646 with 99 Cars at CP PITT.

Too bad 765 couldn't have taken the lead more often. Seeing a diesal leading a fine steam locomotive just doesn't look right. I know, it's insurance and liability issues, but still, it just is wrong on so many levels.
