Yeah, we need to clone this guy and put one of him in every school in the country. A Math teacher that is effective at teaching Math....priceless.

Thank you so much, you completely blow away my current calculus teacher who doesn't even enjoy the material himself and acts as if he hates his job. You always have a smile in each video and show enthusiam in solving these problems. You have saved my calculus grade.

You are amazing at mathematics, and an amazing teacher, but I swear, you say "h" so much it starts to sound weird. Aetch Aetch Aetch. Weird.

If this guy taught math to everybody in america there would be no poverty in the world.

Whenever I see your videos, I just send blessings out for you.
You are a LIFE saver. And i only wish teaching were as real and concept based as yours everywhere as compared to the artificial rote learning it has become.

His method is the classical one given by all standard texts. Here is my problem: His and everyone else's answer to finding the derivative of x^2 comes out as 2x+h. Then they conveniently delete the h calling it zero leaving 2x as the EXACT answer.
Well, if h is zero then dividinq any quantity by zero makes no sense. And if h is not really zero but "almost" zero then answer is not EXACTLY 2x but 2x+h no matter how small the h. No one discusses this uncomfortable fact. I have a logical answer

wonderful teacher and explaination.
that was a good video. but what happened with the other h that didn't divide out?

As h goes to 0, 2x+h goes to 2x+0, which is 2x.
