Lol American media. By American standards Australia is communist too. Farrrr Right Extremist Jinoist, God loving , Occupying Soldier , literally democratic but imperialist by actions...How can people really believe this bullshit ?
@RebelGuy95 I know that, I believe you misread my comment, for I pointed out the same facts.
But Marx didn't even call for a direct democracy; he called for a temporary totalitarian regime that be capable of protecting the infant communist state, as well as to order affairs internally to promote pure communism later on.
@THEendOFJustin Indeed. North-Korea is a Stalinist, Juche STate-Capitalist totalitarian dictatorship, and not even close to Communism. Fox News is just terrible..
@MrMcGale That's somewhat true, but, there are idiots that give communism a bad name and confuse Stalinism with Marxism such as Fox calling N. Korea a communist regime when they're really a Stalinist Totalitarian
@1stLtDavis The Biggert the government, the more people will be deciding of things. A bigger government could listen much more opinions than a small one.
Also, direct Democracy is that EVERYTHING will be decided by the people, and the government will make law of what the people speak of. This is what Communism is.
Capitalism, on the other hand, is corrupt and greedy. That is why it needs a smaller government, so that smaller group of people would speak. You do not seem to know anything.
@MrMcGale Direct democracy and big government in the same sentence...? Nope.
Direct democracies are necessarily small; direct democracy cannot even govern one province or state in the US, for example, much less the nation.
The government must be big, absolutely, and it will not lead back to capitalism, lol....the sole functions of this government is to protect the state from non-communist threats, as well as to order affairs internally - help progress to a more pure form of communism
@1stLtDavis What is important is, that without Marx's writings, many nations would still be pressured by large absolute monarchies. Would a Tsar let Finland or Ukraine go? No.
You don't seem to understand what Communism is. There must be a temporary direct democracy ruled by a big government, that does everything the people/voters want it to do. Also, in Communism, if the people wish for the nation to become Capitalist, it becomes capitalist. Direct Democracy is like that.
@MrMcGale We're talking past each other here; I know what Marx intended/wanted.
But what's important are two fold: what Marx saw as necessary between the thesis and synthesis in his dialectic; And what has actually happened in historical attempts.
Totalitarian governments direct the state and its people, in the case of fascism and communism, towards an objective...for Marx this government was to defend the state against capitalist states, as well as to order affairs internally.
@1stLtDavis Do you know what the State is? There can be a Government, or a Commune without a State. The whole idea of Communism is to end all need for power or greed.
There is a government, which does what the people want it to do. A direct democracy. Totalitarian would be to only do what the leaders need, and kill who disagree with you. Marx's direct democracy is fully against Totalitarianism.
They all live in idiotic conservative dream lands.
