Your exactly right. What people are saying to do is fire her up once a year. Most say for July 4th and have her run a train (then goes back into a sleep) Also 10 trains throughout the day for profits.
-
If its economically feasible, then by all means, maybe even if UP desired to make her run again, go that route, however, UP and Steamtown can't really jeapordise their operations for the sake of one engine, so if it isn't feasible, then it will probably remain a static display........

Same here. And yoir right. The interresting thing is that Steamtown is thinking into maybe if she runs keep her there and use here around there. There wouldnt get rid of 2317 and 3254 for sure. I hihgly doubt steamtown will use it but she's actually really close to running condition
-
I wasn't aware of that, its nice to know that there is at least one Big Boy out there that is somewhat operational, rebuilding steam and running however, is expensive, so UP and others probably are making the right decisions regarding that..
-
Not sure if you know this but 4012 in Steamtown NHS is Somewhat operational. Steamtown NHS has never run the big boy, but they have lit the lights and number plates up for an occasional photo session.
-
Thats True. 4012 isnt in the greatest shape on the outsides than 4023... if they can simply build a house for 4012 she'll be in the best shape of them all
IF i saw a UP here id kill my self.

@MrCSXboy98 LOL! Actually, I got the idea from a real video I have of UP running the Challenger on the Clinchfield, the title of that one is Union Pacific's Clinchfield Challenge, great video.
