Swimming Kangaroo

Went out horse riding with a mate, we heard a splash coming from the river and we turn around to see a kangaroo trying his hardest at back stroke.

A kangaroo was swimming in the river, we found him with wounds to the neck, top of the head and a blood nose. He was OK though, and he was most likely swimming to disinfect the wounds that either a fox or dog inflicted on him.

Ha born and lived in Australia all my life and I've never seen a roo swimming before, then again I don't live near any large body of water, I don't think a kangaroo would be to keen on jumping in one of our freezing cold dams either

Cool video! Wish I could come to Australia and see kangaroos!! i didn't know that they went in the water and that they would drown their attacker if it came into the water after them. Very cool!!

yea it was a didgeridoo, and the kangaroo was more than likely in the for safety when a kangaroo is frightened or attacked they will go into water and when the attacked goes in after it the kangaroo will drowned the animal, i've seen it happen to dogs before.

Hey, I'm watching "Bindi the Jungle Girl", the "Aussie Icons" episode and she's talking about the instruments the Aborigines use. Is that a didgeridoo playing at the beginning and the end of your video? While hearing Steve playing it, it sounded just like what I heard on this video and brought this to mind. Just wondered. Hope you're doing well.
