It is typical for pet stores to tell customers that their puppies come from licensed breeders. What they dont say is that many USDA-licensed dog breeders maintain kennels like the one shown in this video, shot in March 2009. Best Friends has compiled this and other video footage to show the public what it really means to be a licensed breeder. To learn more about how puppies from kennels like this often end up for sale in retail pet stores, visit our website: http://puppiesarentproducts.com/

  • Why cant they be running in the grass

  • No one should be keeping dogs to breed in cages for life. It is inhumane

  • I don't get the point here. These dogs look healthy and cared for. Go start a real charity. Go help some PEOPLE, hippie douchebags...

  • Also, Ive seen several references to overcrowding in shelters, but I dont think nice dogs that sell for hundreds of dollars are filling up the pounds. Pet owners need to be more responsible and have their pets spayed or neutered to prevent accidental mix breeds that they dont want and cant find homes for. I dont see how puppy mills have anything to do with that, the puppies are obviously desirable and wanted or the puppy mills would go out of business.

  • I watched all the best friends videos. Some were awful and I felt so bad for the poor dogs, but others, like this one, seemed fine. Now that I know what kind of conditions are acceptable, to see that many go above and beyond to make sure the dogs are comfortable even though, by law, they are obviously not required to is reassuring and tells me that many of the people who breed dogs do care about the animals and are being unfairly targeted.
