@cassava99 I recall Africans lining up for jobs as servants and in the mines... an African with a job on the mines was a man of substance... Copper was waht created Northern Rhodesia and Zambia.. when we left Kitwe for South West our servants were weeping as if they were at a funeral which in some ways they were... back to bush or poverty of urban Kitwe...

I think the “woe is me” black blues music in background makes no sense within the context of this video. As I recall the relationship between Europeans and Africans in 1960s Northern Rhodesia was cordial. Africans lined up to work for Europeans as domestic servants and in the mines. There was only ever a maximum of 75,000 Europeans in NR (2/3 were women and children). Our servants cried when we left for South West Africa. It was back to bush and poverty for them and they knew it

Felicity Docking is that really you ? if so WOW HOW ARE YOU ??do you remember me and my sisters? we had red hair and used to play with you and shirley ? we lived in 7th st (same street as the pool) and you lived in 6th or 8th st you had an old car in your yard and we all played in it also we used to dress up like the olden days long dresses etc at your house do you remember ??

Its nice to see that my video is bringing back old friends for you. I also have some of my best memories there as a small child in the sixties. unfortunatley I was too young to remember peoples names. cheers

Thats a pleasure ydo201520, Iam so pleased to see that this video is bringing back memories and people together. Zambia was a great place for me as a child, just a pity we got kicked out after 6 years.

This is amazing ! Thank you SO MUCH you have really made my day ! So good to hear they are both well Felicity was really ill the last time I saw them THEN they left zambia! so in my 12 yr old mind I always thought she Died ! Me & my sisters have never forgotten those girls they were our Good freinds (ask felicity if she remembers the new bikes she & shirley got when she was 10 they were dark green & they let us ride them a lot ! ) I remember how nice their parents too very easy going people
