Plasma displays offer higher refresh rates than LCDs, but can you really see a difference? Watch the video to find out if you should worry about finding comparable refresh rates on the two types of HDTVs.

  • Plasma TV is extremely underrated. I've been selling TVs for 7 years now and I still have customers that come in and complain that plasmas "have to be recharged"...morons. IMO, plasmas are better all around TVs than LCD or "LED" (cough, still LCD). Better blacks = better picture period. LCDs tend to have an advantage in most stores simply because most stores are beaming florescent lights right onto the screen. Dim the lights or turn them off and plasma destroys LCD.

  • BULL-FUCKING SHIT!!! : P

3D content looks WAY BETTER on a 600Hz plasma than any LCD/LED out there...

And don't forget that plasma always has better blacks.

  • These guy's are idiot's, i've seen two of their vids so far, and they seem to not know much about what they are trying to review.

  • What a load! "Think of it as the number of times the image is flashed" Hey dude, these aren't CRTs, the image is not being flashed. Pixels aren't changed unless there is new data to represent, unlike a CRT where you have a magneto gun that is strobing the phosphors on the front of the screen and keeping them energized. I think response time is a much better way of thinking about this, but I think marketing people like hertz, and so they go with hertz, even though it's not very fitting.

  • @SatmDobbs yeah but plasmas burn in way to easy so hmm id rather not

  • @JPSS97 i know thats why i said they have alot of the same stuff i even heard that they have the same engine they call it diferent....

  • @DarthMuse Same Panels actually

  • @JPSS97 well Sony and Samsung use alot of the same stuff inside there TV's they

  • @DarthMuse No need for a TV that fast at this point and time. It's a matter 'natural' blacks and other advantages. Even 480 is overkill

Sony is hands down the most overrated and overpriced brand on the market today. (atleast here in Canada) I also sell tvs

  • Dear HD Nation:

Please give us a topic about Plasma ABL (Auto Brightness Limiter).

Everyone talks about Plasma cons such as energy consumption, flicker, burn ins but not its deepest darkest secret ABL! (Brightness Fluctuation)

    And also Horizontal Line Bleend

There still seems to be NO CONSESUS even if the famous AVS forum if this is inherent in all plasma displays.

    Thank you

  • @DarthMuse

Wait, I heard they were already making one with 960Hz?

  • @OtomoTenzi Sony Bravia HX925 will kill any plasma it has 800hz!!!
