#128 - Ask A Reformed Socialist - Wrecking American Culture - Federal Sales Taxes

If you are wondering how our wonderful king and savior is going to pay for all of these wonderful social programs and bailouts, just Ask A Reformed Socialist: its pretty simple: First soak the rich, then soak businesses (which we all know is simply additional tax on people since businesses simply pass their costs on down to the consumers), then when thats not enough, initiate a federal sales tax. If we are going to be like any other socialist country, we'd better get cracking on a federal sales tax, I mean Canada, Australia and the UK all have one - maybe we should. Of course you are saying - how is that possible? Won't that mean taxing the poor as well? Sure, but they can get tax refunds. Not the rest of us though. Next after that is the mortgage interest deduction. That first will be gone for high earners, then slowly disappear for everyone. Obama doesn't want you in a house, he doesnt want you anything but dependent on the government for everything. Right now, we are not as dependent on the government as they are in these other countries. Obama and his Axis of Evil are working hard to destroy the rugged American individualism that made this country great. How does this work? Make the Kool-Aid sweeter and sweeter so that more and more people drink it, and in the end if you don't drink it, you will be forced to at the point of a gun. And then you won't be able to fight back as the government will have all the guns. The second half of this is when the government reduces our options, there will be a equal reduction in our happiness. Our culture will be completely different. The optimism which is the backbone of America will disappear. We have to fight for our independence, we have to fight for our freedom.

Each successive administration expands the power of the fed govt.. Why make this distinction between Obama and the rest.? Did Bush not expand government? Katrina - if a national disaster isn't something the fed government (and my tax dollars) should be invoved in what is? Was it Louisiana's problem? Maybe 20% (or whatever state taxes take vs federal) of it was. You want to blame someone, blame Lincoln - whom I'm sure you admire as one of our greatest leaders.

Okay, back to talking about the video. In regards to a Federal Sales Tax, I have heard about the Fair Tax being proposed. If this passed, then that one dreaded day in April would be just another day. Why? No IRS. I would like to keep 100% of my paycheck. Texas and Florida citizens don't have to file returns for their state taxes. Don't just take my word for it. Do your own research. Two books and millions of dollars of research about the Fair Tax have been written and compiled.

Brian Mulroney, Canadian PM who brought in the GST told us that it would be a temporary measure in order to reduce the deficit, and with the added income, he would actually be able to reduce the income tax across the board. However, like most politicians he lied. He used the money to build new infrastructure instead of paying down the deficit, and opened new government offices and hired new government employees to manage the collection and refunds of this new tax. And income taxes did not drop.

I'm all for eliminating federal taxes, but making renters and outright owners subsidize the heavily mortgaged McMansions of others isn't exactly fair.

Not to mention the skewing which causes homes to get bigger and Bigger and BIGGER... pricing them even further from the reach of average people who desire to live responsibly within their means.

If anything, the deduction makes people more dependent on government, not less.

The US has had higher income taxes in the past, without stoping economic growth. In fact GDP growth from 150-1980 was about 1% greater than growth from 1980-now, yet the income tax rates were higher, particularly the top rates (of 50, 70 and even 90%) - go figure.

Our only hope is to vote Republican across the board. If the GOP regains control of both houses, they can put a stop to Obama's madness by simply not funding any of his hairbrained schemes -- like health care. Obama will veto anything the GOP sends him and they won't have the power to override, but they do have the power to just not fund particular bills. But first, YOU must make it your business to vote for NO Democrats.

shit i live in cali and we already pay almost 10 cents on every dollar on sales tax and this state is going down fast just look at cali and do the exact oppisit and dont get me started on the problems with gatting a gun or the new id ammo
