I doubt those whales would have swollowed him. I've had a close encounter like that myself with a humpback myself. We get them here in Jamaica. Didn't know the whale was near me till I heard its trade mark noise they make from that spout on their head.

You guys had the experience of a lifetime!!! I just experienced that last week in Santa Cruz, but the whales were lunge feeding, not bubble net feeding, no closer to me than 50 feet. Awesome!
