I hope Irna Phillips comes back from the dead and punches Everybody at CBS, and Procter and Gamble in the face.

I wish there was more vid. from this particular episode. This is a fantastic piece of soap history to have on the internet! I'd give more stars if I could.

@thug00187 I could not agree with you more. the mistakes that the shmucks at CBS made are unbelievable.why did they add all of the teeny bopper storylines; also do you think that P&G was getting heat from the so-called "religious right' and they wanted out of it all; some storylines became too controversial for P&G?

@TimsDale4ever You betta say it, Tim!

@Messylin Wasn't she pretty?! Kathryn is 76 years old and is still very pretty.

@thug00187 It wouldn't surprise me if she did just that! LOL!!! We all know how feisty she was!

Dear god, Kathryn Hays was a stunningly beautiful woman!!!

This wasn't my favorite TV soap opera, or one I watched regularly. But the main theme music and title/credits sequences must surely be one of the two most beautfully melodic and memorable of any soap ever recored.
The other one would be a tie etween the "La Lumiere" organ,or "Ritounelle" versions of "The Guiding Light," with the organ, instrumental version of "We'll Search For Tomorrow" a close runner-up.

@orbit14915 I hate to see these old shows leave the air. but the networks aren't flush with the kind of money they used to get back in the glory days of the soap operas. they have to find new revenue streams.
it's sad that women would waste their time watching such trash..

@irish89055 It's also sad that people denigrate things for which they know little. World Turns was not trash during this era. It was the most conservative daytime drama on the air, often chastised for its unyielding sense of morality. It was a story that emphasized hearth and home and family. Good always triumphed over evil, and ethically ambivalent characters were shown to suffer and elude happiness when they chose the wrong path. It's appeal wasn't limited to women either.

I love this. Look at that hair on Kathryn Hays! I didn't realize Jennifer was still alive at this time. This was just about the end for her, wasn't it?

Yes. Jennifer died 7 months after this episode was telecast. Kathy Hays is so beautiful in these scenes. How I long for the days of Kim's unholy marriage to John Dixon and the rocky marriage of Jen & Bob. ATWT was super during this era. I have watched for 44 years, and It's heartbreaking to see what it has become today -which is one reason World Turns will soon be nothing but a pleasant memory.
