This is a project describing Sojourner Truth, a fantastic woman and ex-slave who spoke out against anti-slavery and for women's rights. Her notable speech, "Ain't I a woman?" has become a legendary phrase today.
According to her book of 1883 w/ Olivr Gilbert she was legally freed "under the act of 1817, which all slaves who were 40 yrs od and upwards" - she as a resident of NY.
You could a) explain why she had to run away when she was already supposed to be freed.
If you're going to imitate a slave accent, then get it right. She was from Ulster County, NY, not the deep south, which is ur accent.
@ 02:25 u used Zinn's work & don't even say it. That's not fair use w. copyright
@EBanonymous wouldn't his accent have a Dutch flavor to it since she only spoke Dutch into her early teen years?
