I found this in the garbage the same say as the 1974 Snapper Lawnmower after a neighbor told me about it. I thought the engine was seized at first since their was a metal plate stuck in the blades. I removed the metal plate, and the engine rotated, and later started after filling the tank with gas. Runs great!

  • i have an old 1984 sears 5 horse power chipper. it runs great but the teeth on the shredder plate are worn off and it wont shred worth a dam anymore. does any one here know were you can get chipper replacement parts? i already tried sears and that was pointless. they just want you to buy a whole new one.

  • well i guess if you called sears, and the dillemma was endless you probably will have to buy a new one unless a local small engine shop could help fit some parts on it to make it work

  • I know where the numbers are. I just remembered the Dave Rock (davidsfarm) way of reading the numbers. I will post the numbers later.

  • What was that crank for? I have a cat that was given to my brother quite a while ago. Although he can be a pain in the ass sometimes, I still love him. To get our attention, he loves to rub against us. Oh yeah, "meow, meow, meow..."

  • If you are talking about the crank with the white handle on the hopper it is used for feeding stubborn branches, or sticks into the hopper.. My cat rubs against people too.

  • I have the same identical trutest shredder. Picked it up for $50. I got mine seized with a 2" stick wedging in the blades.

  • cool find

  • ya i have a troybilt 8 hp with vac and chip and if you put a stick in there then turn it off when the stick still there it wont turn

  • where and how often do you trash pick cause you get some good shit

  • @denisdeveze try ace hardware or northern tool or tractor supply

  • the chippers are hard to pull because you are rotating the blades at the same time, i bought a 1997 craftsman 5hp chipper shredder for $50 because he said the engine was seized but it was beacause a ratchet fell in it, so i got a free ratchet out of the deal also and a nice wood chipper that cost the guy $500 when he bought it

  • The oblong slot by the agitator handle is where the branches are fed and the leaves are typically dumped into the larger opening. Excellent freebie!!!

  • wow I really need one of those! we just throw all our branches in the woods :P
