  • Thanks! I really enjoyed this!!

We are so conditioned by our culture as to what we "need" in life. I like his points.

  • I'm just reading his book now and so impressed, I searched for more info and came here.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this. I just picked up Eric's book and am eager to jump into it. As a fellow Star Trek fan, I want to add that Captain James Tiberius Kirk also distrusted technology. Watch "The Ultimate Computer" for the most overt example, but also episodes such as "The Return of the Archons" and the one where war is waged by computer (the title escapes me). Let me recommend an insightful and inspiring 1969 short novel expressing similar ideas: Henry and the Great Society by H.L. Roush.

  • sometimes i ask myself: "if eric can do it, why can't i?"

  • According to the docu the end of suburbia the suburbs were first built with light rail and GM somehow found a way to remove this efficient transport to exploit the car. Interstates later followed but the roads were never able to accomodate fully the traffic. All that energy that has been waisted all the accumulative years spent driving for no real reason other than GM wanted to sell cars.

  • Good book so far im on ch 10. Makes me not like my area even less I have tried to walk to the store cars blow by 50/60mph no sidewalk no place for a bike almost like some designed it for you to have to take a car or motorcycle. It is just too dangerous to get to a main road from my house. My home town was perfect if you wanted to ride bikes but the police would hassle you all the time as if it were a crime to be on a bike 70380 the police are not there to protect and serve.

  • he definatly looks like he could fit into the amish comunity if he had a beard =D

  • yes but america is designed around the car mall life its a whole approach the phyical body has become redundant the unabomber was right

  • u know as i sit here on my own on a sunday morning staring atthe pc and chatting to my g/f who is far away, im thinking of all the things i should be doing if this pc didnt exsist and i realise that everything he said in this video is 100%, what the fuck are we going to do about it?
