  • I have been a Japan fan since the beginning. Does anyone have a tip on a video with Steve Jansens brilliant drumming on video? One of the best drumming is the one he does on "Visions of China" but the video does not show that much, neither does the "Oil on Canvas" show.

  • You got to see some of his drumming on Visions of China when they did the 3 track set at the Oxford Road Show. Someone has put this up already, that's why i'm not bothering to put mine up.

  • if you have a better quality version (read your other post under the video) why not post it? It's a shame this stuff has to be such low quality youtube clips only, someone needs to put together a dvd of this stuff.

  • Not sure what you mean. This is the only version i have of this. Which other post are you referring to?

  • Oxford Road Show

  • Do you mean the 3 tracks Japan did at the ORS? If so, i'm not so sure that mine is better quality now after all, and its longer than 10 minutes, so youtube won't let me upload it anymore. They've just tightened up on the 10 minute rule in the last few weeks.

  • One of the baddest dudes to ever grace a rhythm section.

    Thanks for the upload :)

  • I love this guy, one of the best drummers I've ever heard. By the time Japan did Tin Drum he had a style & sound totally original & his own. Thank you for posting this

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!!! <3 <3 <3

You are the most talented drummer/percussinist in the whole world!

Wishing you Good Health and Happiness on your special day and everyday.

The Batt Brothers - both so shy and so amazingly beautiful :P

  • One of the best and sophisticated drummers. Thanks Jezzy

  • That man is possessed of genius. A drummer's drummer.

  • Simonwitts - I went too. It was a lovely exhibition wasn't it. I still have this clip on video from the time and I used to watch it over and over again. Steve is a wonderful drummer and a nice guy. I had the pleasure to meet him in 85 while he was playing with Propaganda at a ZTT showcase. My friend and I were invited to attend the aftershow party on stage at the Ambassadors Theatre. I will never forget sitting with him (and lots of others) in his dressing room!

  • I remember watching this on tv. I went down to the Photographers Gallery & bought a couple of the photos which at £75 each were a small fortune. You can contact him direct now & he sells direct and will sign them for you. A great guy. Best drummer in the world..

  • He was always my favorite!

  • sounds so much like his brother!
