  • hey! i wanna know something! if im running ubuntu 10.10, and i update, do i ahve to reset and start over with my themes and packages that i use with compiz config? it took me a while to make it how i wanted it, i dont want to have to do it over! do i?

  • @allpau111 the packages should update whichever ones are compatible with 11.04, and I believe themes should carry over too.

  • Gnome != "guh-nome"

    Gnome == "nome"

  • @arronhunt I honestly get that comment every single day. GNOME = an acronym for "GNU Object Model Environment", therefore the official pronunciation is "guh-nome". "nome" is perfectly acceptable to say as well, though.

    End of the day, it doesn't matter how I say it, people complain. :)

  • Will I be able to choose between Unity, Gnome shell and/or kde at login?? I rather use gnome but think unity is worth a try,

  • @Arverick88 with 11.04 you will be able to select either Unity or "Ubuntu Classic Edition" (which is Gnome 2.x) at startup. If you install KDE, you'll have a KDE option. If you can install Gnome Shell (which won't be doable by default) you'll have an option for that.
