New Community - "Vidding_Elite"

As you know a lot of Youtube vidders have decided to move their vids to Imeem or to Vimeo. However, we have recently discovered that Imeem now has a max. 10 video upload limit for any free user. Furthermore, Vimeo has stated that they do not tolerate fanvids (and since they are a smaller, newer company they are able to monitor this more closely than YT).

So our only option?

Livejournal and Password-Protected Vimeo account. If the videos are uploaded to Vimeo and password protected then they are a lot less likely to be deleted.

So I created a LJ community specifically for vidders here (and Imeem vidders and LJ vidders, of course) to interact, share vids, get to know each other, and have fun ... all while avoiding the Youtube/Imeem/Vimeo's deletion-spree.

So if your a vidder with an LJ, or you would just like to keep track of your favorite vidders just in case anything happens: please join.

If you don't have an LJ, then I seriously recommend that you sign up for one. Because of the new 10-upload-limit Imeem has and Vimeo being so blatantly anti-fanvid, this is looking like the best option at the moment for us vidders.

How will people see my vids if their password protected?

Easy. Just put the password for your vid right next to the video link in your livejournal post.

What will we do in the community?
Post vids. Give/Receive feedback. Discuss vidding. Participate in vidding contests, chats, and other activities. And keep in touch with and get to know each other better!

This is a great idea though I feel like I'm fighting a battle just to make fan vids LOL, I mean seriously sense when did FAN VIDDING FOR NO PROFIT become so hard?!?! GAH anyways lol once I can figure out LiveJournal I'll join the community I'm such a n00b on there =\ I can't even figure out how to replace my current header on a theme someone got for me :\

I know, right? I would understand if we were making millions of dollars from this, but we're not earning one cent (in fact, we LOSE money buying vidding software, dvds, storage space, etc lol)
