Is it really that cold in September in Atlanta to be wearing sweaters and coats?

It was 1 day from October and around 8am in the morning, so yes it was cold.

I was only asking because I'm moving there soon, and it sounds good to me that it gets cool that early in the year for the South. It sounds like Atlanta really does have seasons. Which is great!!!!!

Seasons? Oh yeah... a lot more than I would like.
We have four full seasons even though some people feel like we don't have winter because we aren't -20F for 2 months. :)
Basically December to February can hover between 40F down to 20F, and dips down to 10F or even 0F. June through August it gets hot. The rest of the year is great.
HTH.
