One of my favourite movie music composers, John Powell, conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, performing selected parts his (IMHO) best score so far - How to Train Your Dragon, at Concert for Care in Royal Albert Hall,
London, 18. October 2010.
If you enjoy this video, we kindly ask you to make a donation to CARE International. The idea of the concert was to raise money for the charity and all the composers gave a huge amount of time to help support us.

  • That's amazing! Where can I download the audio from this concert? Because I need all of the tracks in one, like here. I'll be so grateful to download this music. :)

  • @mkonkova I don't think you will be able to find the audio from that concert...Get the soundtrack and put the track together using Soundforge or Audacity...

  • @xavierzutafun Umm, I don't know.. Ok, I'll try to do that, but if you'll find all the music suite of this, tell me, and I'll be so grateful. Thanks. :)

  • @mkonkova Well I can tell you that it was hard to record it and keep it on YouTube due to the rights. It was a small concert, the Royal Albert Hall was not full, so I really doubt that you will find the recording from this particular session...But good luck anyway

  • It's such bs that "The Social Network" won Best Original Score. The music of How To Train Your Dragon was such a huge part of what made that movie amazing, and so many people don't realize that people because see first, listen second. There truly is no justice in this world when the best animated film of the last decade wins neither Best Original Score, or Best Animated Movie.

  • I don't know how John Powell didnt win best soundtrack.

The academy voters must like awful music.

  • @blackhorse1988 the oscars have no credibility any more, at least for me. The music was even better than the movie, got 98% on rottentomatoes by the way.

This year the oscars decided it would be cool to snub Harry Potter and Drive. They snubbed the. last. Harry. Potter. movie. I guess what I'm trying to say is who cares what they think. Fuck the Oscars.

  • such epic music... why isn't the orchestra scoring for it available yet >.< its been over a year and i would love to play this with a full orchestra

  • John Powell is the best at what he does, he captures his audience from the start and using the magic of music to tell a new story. John powell, what i would give to have the honour to shake your hand

  • I would trade something valuable of mine, (I don't know what yet...) to play with this man as my conductor! <3 his work, it's awesome! :)

  • @blackhorse1988 NO, no, no. Toy Story 3 deserved it. BUT it should have won original score without a doubt. That was fucking bullshit.

  • I would give up my limbs to see this live....

  • @mkonkova I can send you the soundtrack if you need it, as I have it.

  • WHAT. WHAT. WHAT. I WANNA BE THERE.

DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I WOULD PAY TO GO TO THIS???

    .....A LOT.

    D':

  • Why I hadn't been there! :(

  • Romantic Flight.....ughh, so good.
