Normally you just buy the t56 separately as a rebuilt unit because you don't want an abused tranny in a rocket like this. The best rear end to use is a ford thunderbird rear differential ( I think there a 7.8 ) these can easily handle 500HP and will take the abuse.
Take a look a "the banshee" from Stacy David's Gearz tv show its on YouTube and for the LSx swap in a miata Look into Flyin Miata they have a great kit for the LSx swap

@chimaera1855 - I'm pretty confident that the T56 6 speed didn't come with the LS1 (may be incorrect) but T56s give an OUTSTANDING gear selection and power handling. The T5 is ok in terms of power handling but an off the shelf T56 by Hurst or comparable brands can handle around 700. If you get a good clutch and plan to produce around 500 HP, the T56 will handle dropping and shocking the clutch all day, if built to handle a bit more power than is given.

i would put a 323 or a 273 gear in it.. t hat car is so light.. you dont really need low gear ratio.

@UtubeACCno1 i meant did u use the gearbox that came with that engine.T56.my car use the T5 gearbox.it can takes the torque of the CERBERA with over 420hp.i should be ok i guess.in the UK everyone is telling me how heavy is the T56.but for all the videos i've seen.it looks pretty easy to fit in Miata.so it should be alright in a TVR CHIMAERA.any help there.?

anyway it's insane... It's like putting a TL motor into a civic. 3.2 liters is more than enoug to be freakish in an EK hatch. . .

@Triple88a Thanks a bunch for all the info, and about the website. Best, yl
I see that reading comprehension is something that is way beyond your intelligence level. Please quote where I said "I think it's an LS1"
I did say "I think it was around 6500" I'm sorry I don't remember every shift point from every gear change every time I've driven the car.
If you truly believe that this 1994 Miata did not have an LS1, 3.73's, a T56, and 24.5" tires, I do not know what to tell you, other than you are a mongoloid who shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.
kthxbye

Car was 2580, full tank of gas.
Motor was an LS1 from a 2002 F body. Healthy 300rwhp/tq on a Dynojet (have sheets,) with way too rich AF (not engine condition related)
Straight pipes, no cats, no mufflers, no crossovers
Car was on 24.5" tires, 3.73 gears. 6th gear was around 2k at like 70mph. Plenty of gear, enough tire. Seriously, don't speak about something you know absolutely nothing about. You sound like a fucking retard.

I really can't remember when I was shifting in this video. If I had to guess, I'd say 6000-6500RPM. But maybe not, who knows at this point :)
Transmission was a stock T56, rear end was a Ford 8.8", 3.73's. Tires were 185/60/14 up front (I think) and 205/55/14 Nitto NT555R drag radials in the back.

Car is for sale. Will be posting a "For Sale" video soon.

How much power are you running? I have two mazda miatas and I am thinking of putting in a V8 that I has been in my grandmothers back yard for 20 years. I hope to be turning it into a 383 stroker.

Somewhere in the area of 320rwhp.
