  • what did you use for a dolly?

  • Two pieces of 3/4" Plywood bolted together. I would say it's like 4 ft long by 2 ft wide...not sure exactly as it's been a little while since I built it. Thanks for watching.

  • what song is that?

  • Apertura by Gustavo Santaolalla. It is off of The Motorcycle Diaries soundtrack.

  • That's great man!

    real inspiring!

  • Thanks very much!

  • amazingly smooth! ive seen alot of different ways to make a dolly. how did you make yours?

  • I too used PVC pipe and in actuality, I only used one pair of 10 ft PVC pipes, but I do have another pair of 10 fts I have yet to have used. I just need to figure out how to piece them together without have a hitch where the seams meet. There are threads and forums across the internet for this exact thing.

  • Basically I looked at various websites on building your own DIY dolly and then took pieces from each one and went with my own. I got all the supplies at Home Depot for the most part with the exception of the inline skate wheels, which I got at a local roller skating rink here in two (I paid like $40 for 16 wheels) If you have any other questions, just post them here. Thanks.

  • You make a good point. There are two things to accomplishing not seeing the tracks:

    (1) You either have the tracks raised enough that the bottom of your frame is high enough that you do not see the tracks. Additionally, you can have your camera at a lower level but simply tilt the camera slightly up so that once again, the tracks are out of frame. Hope this helps.

  • this might be a dumb question but how do u a dolly shot if u r going forward instead of sidewards....i thought doly shots need rails on which the camera rolls...wouldnt u see the rails if u move forwards?

  • Nice work.........

I'm building a dolly...... your video is my favorite so far...... Good Job,,,, the color correction is very good too..... give me some tricks!!!!

  • nice work...the shots look great i just built a dolly also and was wondering what you use for track i am currently using PVC but can only get 10 foot lengths. It looks like you are traveling way more than 10 ft. :)
