Don't buy GM cars! Stuck with a 2009 Cadillac CTS lemon as GM goes Bankrupt

After 4 months of negotiations between General Motors and my lawyer, my car was deemed to be a lemon. It has gotten stuck in 1st or 2nd gear on 10 occasions. Lund Cadillac in Phoenix Arizona stated they cannot reproduce probem, so car is ok. See video footage they dismissed! General Motors retracted the offer, and now that they are bankrupt I cannot take them to court! I haven't had my car in months, and now am stuck with a $45K piece of junk! DO NOT BUY GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCTS ANYMORE, THEY DO NOT NEED TO STAND BEHIND THEIR CARS

UPDATE: Well GM never stood behind this car and it was never fixed. I was forced to purchase a new vehicle at full price.

This car is in "limp mode" and your Check Engine light is on--this is a safety feature allowing you to "limp" to a point where it can be towed or carried to a shop. On cars with low mileage like this which have been driven normally (no racing or accidents), this is a likely to be defective sensor or harness connection. What were the DTCs triggering the Check Engine light? Also, holding 4000 RPM at such a low speed for that long can cause your engine and catalytic converters to overheat.

When will people learn, the only time to buy American is if you're buying a truck, a larger SUV (Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition etc...) or a muscle car (Ex: Mustang, Camaro.) If you're buying a sedan, a compact car, a small suv, or a van, buy foreign (Particularly Honda, Toyota, or VW)

@HoTEcuaBoy All cars in the US are pieces of crap because of stupid EPA and NHTSA regulations. Why does every car need fuel injection or traction control? Why do all cars need to be weighed down by ridiculous systems that cost thousands to install and cause most maintenance issues? If it weren't for EPA, our cars would have kept higher compression ratios, gotten better fuel mileage with more power, and would have weighed hundreds of pounds less for a few decades now. @dakalakaking Honda is supported by an artificial Japanese market that forces them to buy a new car or replace the engine every 50,000 miles. They also received a bailout from the Japanese gov't in the 90's similar to GM. Furthermore, they distributed hybrid civics that got worse mileage than regular civics and recently lost the case in court and have to pay up to the owners who were defrauded. GM sucks too though. Get gov't out of cars and let the market work, period!
