Even though this movie is fairly good, despite some bad acting, there are many goofs in this movie. Gilbert and Anne were born assumingly in 1890 about three or four years before Sara Stanley (Road to Avonlea) was born. Sara came to Avonlea in 1904. Three seasons later in Road to Avonlea, Marilla dies. The whole timeline is messed up. In the end of the movie Hetty King and Rachel Lynde were still alive. Doesn't make any sense...

@LexieCasteel I agree, why not use the actual material from L.M. Montgomery. That was why the first two movies were so enduring. I would not even watch the entire third one and this one is COMPLETE crap. Why not use Rainbow Valley or Rilla of Ingleside?

Is it just me or does the woman playing the grown up Anne resemble Katharine Hepburn?

I think Sullivan relies a lot on the success of the original to promote these later films, knowing that most of us will watch it even if we dislike his choices.

And yes, Anne Shirley will be forever tied to Megan Follows.

I agree! There is so much magic to the series (all 8 of them) and I did like the first two movies Kevin Sullivan did however, when he began to take liberties in the third movie I grew annoyed and now this movie has came out and I AM annoyed.
