If this is not the best version, it is at least a close second to Waring's Pennsylvanians! Recorded December 23rd 1927. Vocal chorus by Tom Stacks.

This is the SECOND best, surely-- Mr Reser's band is awful nice, but never as much fun as Waring's.  (Also I like the other side, the Wob-A-Ly Walk!)

@shortjockbalt I simply find this is the version I listen to the most often. Waring's version may be more fun, but I enjoy this more danceable arrangement compared to the near-Spike Jones nuttiness by Waring. That said, I enjoy all versions of the tune, and I do love Waring's "Wob-a-ly walk"!

Emidicta: Sadly, I've not an actual record of this version; I do play Waring's almost constantly. Waring specialised in the nutty style of the 20s (and how I do love it!) but you are right, that Dajos' version is much more properly danceable. Waring allows me, though, to do some approriately 20s goofy dancing! :) Glad to see that I'm not the only one left on earth who loves this number!
