A live-action short, using many avant-garde film techniques, that looks at American car culture in the late 1960s. The main section deals with the many trials and obstacles a teenager must face on the path to being able to drive. Surviving the driver's education class is only the first step, as the teenager must then pass his driving test, and then finally get permission to borrow the family car.looks at American car culture in the late 1960s. • I speak French, so I probably would have been inclined towards the French car. That said, I felt sorry for the poor car who was gasping to death.

  • I first saw this when I was little, and it was already a bit dated and corny, but still with lots of funny parts, and a fair amount of it is relevant today. But my favorite part is Speed Felon and Mighty Misdemeanor Motors! I'm glad to be able to see it again. Just the salesman's name makes me laugh!

  • The car salesman is Spencer Quinn. Funniest segment I ever saw. I remember salesmen like him (without the exaggeration) on TV in the SF Bay area, c. 1970 (when this was made)

  • Is that Tim Conway as the used car salesman?

  • I think I bought my first car from Speed Fellon!!!

  • 2:25 WTF?!?!?!

  • yeah a series 62 convertible - wonder what that interior was like after the car wash though? They go for 30 grand or more mint condition

  • Said he paid 35 dollars for that 1959 Ragtop Caddie. I'd pay 4500 if it was in similar condition today!

  • The voice, not the kid. Peace.

  • Uh... thanks... I think? My teacher was hilarious, not to mention very open minded. Of course, this movie was created back in 1970, so he was either a teen or a man in his early 20s around that time. :)
