Dr. Michael Brooks, chair of psychiatry at Brighton Hospital, MI, USA discusses pain killer addiction with Michelle, a rheumatoid arthritic, who suffers with pain so crippling that she spent more than a year in a wheelchair, and became addicted to the pain killers physicians had prescribed for the pain of her rheumatoid arthritis. Michelle began abusing the pain killers, her quality of life was vanishing, and finally she admitted herself to Brighton Hospital, America's second oldest addiction treatment facility. There, with the help of Suboxone (buprenorphine) Michelle is living, walking and enjoying her life again as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She discusses her challenges and the help she received at Brighton Hospital with Michael Brooks DO, a nationally recognized leader in the use of Suboxone in a complete regimen of medication and behavioral 12 step recovery.
@whatnamesnottakenyet Elderly people EXACTLY but there are so many people out there that are addicted to opiates to achieve euphoria, like me,for years, now clean, and maybe my message was harsh and I will remove it but more people need to be educated on the horrible addictive qualities of opiates like this woman for example, just listen to her..

@Lightning1369 Is that supposed to be a joke? I personally know 2 elderly people very well that suffer from it and it is a HORRIBLE disease. One of the 2 has it so bad, he can't even drive anymore (his fingers are pretty much fused together at all of the joints) and it takes him an HOUR to get his clothes on in the morning.

I have been on suboxone for 3 years and it is VERY VERY ADDICTIVE. Some people think its a miracle drug but thats so so so so so wrong. Its just like anyother opiod. Plus it has a very long half life. Very bad. Please just quit the old fashioned way. Please
