  • @MyPigeonCoop You're welcome, glad it could help you out

  • it is nice that you are posting still

  • @philip9487 Thanks Philip... I will be getting birds again hopefully in the near future.

  • Magnetite is a crystaline structure that grows behind the beak where the bird was raised. It does not work like a compass, the dendrites in the mucous membrane surrounding magnetite give it a feeling for the direction of home. When they circle the feeling is stronger in one direction.

  • @Skipigeon Thank you for the clarification on this matter. I had only heard briefly about the theory and obviously uncertain about the details.

  • Hello Newpigeon Guy,

Hi, I've seen yr Vids and there great. Just wanted to ask u, I've got 2 young pigeons about 6 wks old & 2 doves about 3mths old.

I've had them now for 4 wks in total, sitting in the Avriay at the bottom of my garden, where they can see out.

What I wanted to know is, when can I let them out, knowing they will return & not fly away. As far as I know they have been never let out before.

    Many thanks, Abs.

  • dude...ur video was awesome and very interesting...i love pigeons and will bring a pair soooooooon!!!
