A hot paper clip is a bit more dramatic. Just saying.
-
Nope. Nope nope nope... NOPE

@Earle990 lol. BTW, you can use a hot paperclip instead. Just heat it with a lighter flame and it will do less damage to the underlying tissue while also be sterilized by the flame. The doc had to do this to my finger after it got smashed.

@Diuxid You didn't have to click on this and watch it and then comment on it?
ok so i did this this morning and all went well, was quick and painless, all the gunk came out and toenail went pinkish colour...12 hours later and it has went black again and the hole is closed with conjealed blood! what will i do? someone please reply :)

@monicamccollum Does it hurt? Clotted blood is probably not a problem, unless it is under pressure again. You could try soaking your foot in warm water, or poking a hole in the clotted blood. If nothing comes out, and it doesn't hurt, then everything is probably OK. What you are looking forward to, is a dried blood clot under the toenail, and the toenail falling off in a few weeks. Yum! If it continues to hurt, and there are signs of infection, then I recommend seeing a doctor.

@Earle990 Shouldn't you see a doctor in the first place?

@C00lman555 There's no doctor where I live, and this is a first aid, for which I have been trained.
