A total hangun ban in Canada is a joke and won't accomplish anything. Why don't you address the real problem! The criminals have more rights in Canada than it's honest citizens. What about the right to live with no fear.

They barely balanced the books this year with a fairly hefty property tax increase. Wait till next year when revenue is down. The shortfall will be the largest they ever had and all those people they hired this year and many more will be out of a job. They can join the arts people in looking for a job. Start cutting now and eliminating non essential services. If the people of this city have to titen their belts then City Hall should do the same.

Amazingly, Mayor Miller then went on to claim that Toronto "is still very safe compared to most American cities." Never mind that Toronto has more muggings, car thefts, and assaults per capita than New York City! Nationally, Canada's overall crime rate is 50% higher than the US; and 30 US states are safer than any Canadian province.

But Mr. Miller would never say that because it is mostly one culture and god forbid we upset anyone. Only criminals have rights in this country and not the citizens (tax payers)the goverment is supposed to protect. They use the greater good only when it serves them and discards any other time. In general, a well armed population is a polite and respectful one. Drive in the country in Texas, almost every cowboy pickup that drives by has gent in the truck. Just inches behind him is a rifle rack with a shotgun, rifle or both. I saw, them smile and lift a hand off the wheel to wave, or nodded as they drove past or even touched the brim of their hat, even the gals too! It was so civil, I wish everyone, everywhere could be like that. You felt acknowledged.

More guns owned by responsible citizens actually equal less crime as per the stats in America. In America we know which groups are responsible for 80% of the gun deaths and yet we can not discuss it publically for fear of being called racist by the hypocritical Left.
