August 15th, 1998 saw one of the most historic Busch Series races to date. This race was ran caution free (the last one as of 2011) and all 43 starters finished 92% of the laps run. There were no accidents or mechanical failures. All cars finished the race.
Other Michigan stats from the 90s.. This was the 2nd fastest race ever run at Michigan. Mark Martin won the 1995 race in 42 less seconds, and that stands at the fastest. From 1995-1999 there were only 3 cautions for 12 laps in 5 years and 500 laps of racing.
ESPN oopsed and listed Jeff Burton as the winner of the Pepsi 400 instead of 200. Wrong Jeff guys!
From the green flag dropping to the victory lane celebrations, this could pass as on hour long uninterrupted special
