@blueisbest7 tennessee had a team that went unscored on in the 1939 season with an 11 game schedule. although we did lose in the rose bowl, we were the last team to be unscored upon and that will never happen again.

@TheSillylizard I don't think you understand the concept. This is a list of TEAMS not PROGRAMS. In terms of programs, Alabama is probably neck-and-neck with Notre Dame for #1 IMO. The '61 Bama team, one of the best defensive teams in history, is my first team listed outside of the top ten on this list.

1901 Michigan Wolverines were not scored on once the whole season, you cannot argue that they were not the best tream ever. Also even though theyre program is garbage Ohio State should have a team in here

@blueisbest7 Some argue they weren't even the best team that year. They never played Harvard, Yale, or Princeton, the big boys of college football that season. Those teams looked at Michigan the way we look at Boise State and TCU today.
