@hendrixexperiencedig first off i love your name lol second off i have to disagree you just have to play s hell of alot! Ive had my american standard fender strat since i was 17 im 20 now its starting to show my paint is poly but is starting to chip like where my arm goes an im getting slight fretware showing from playing not alot but if you keep playing it will show just gotta enjoy it

UGLY.

instant character: just add hammer.

I agree I hate the fake relics, even if it is really accurate custom shop one it's still fake. But I'm just saying you play hard and you have to play for long long years to even achive a slight relic

@hendrixexperiencedig i have guitars from the past 30 years and they all are getting there yes newer guitars do take longer to relic but thats the whole point of it being reliced if it isnt by playing its just fake
-
I guess now I can spot the fakes, but really, people are so.....what's the word.....
-
why do people do belt rash like the person was wearing a battle mace on their belt?
-
the new paint jobs aplied on the recent models are designed not to relic and keep their finish much more longer than the old models. So if you think you can relic your new guitar just by playing you're wrong.

The easy way to "relic" your guitar is to buy a standard version and simply not look after it properly. Don't keep it in a case or a cover - never clean it , don't worry about chips coming off the paint or varnish . As long as it plays as it should who is going to care !! Certainly NEVER pay the likes of Custom Shop prices for "mojo" chips an dings- anyone who does is just dumb !!
What a concept! Can't wait until it get to cars!
