@gmcjetpilot A quick note on your "thought Nazi" comment - out of you and me, only one of us believes that having an incorrect thought will result in being subjected to eternal torture, and it isn't me. You might want to rethink your use of the inflammatory phrase "thought Nazi", in light of you beliefs about the post-mortem destiny of non-Christians.

Yes, ideas can kill. Like the state religions you quote. I am an Atheist - not a Communist.

Violence has existed on both sides. I do not support it.

I fight for freedom - people's freedom to do as they please without hurting others. This includes gay marriage and gay adoption.

Believers oppose this, so I oppose their god.

I didn't have anu religion until 25; bachelors in engineering, working for Boeing, going to Grad school, I wanted to study religion & history, so I read the Bible. It's profound. I felt the holy spirit. Jesus Christ is my Lord & Savior, a REAL person who changed the world, by his teachings in his best selling book, the greatest wisdom & morals mankind has. Take a Bible basics class. Only 4% atheists total, most thought Nazi's whining about others spirituality. How can u miss this?
