@sweatintotheoldies Actally it did start airing in 1985, this according to the Victory Auto Wreckers web site.

He got a hand full of 20s for that car. And the 20s have small faces. lol
on one website it indicates this commercial was done in 1981.

Great video! I'm a Chicago native, and those Victory Auto Wreckers commercials have always cracked me up when that guy opens the car door and it falls off. The way that guy quickly gets out of the way of the falling car door is a classic! And I still see these VAW commercials on TV to this day. Love that retro mix towards the end, which makes the video all the more funnier.
