    Whether that means co-option/coercion by MI5 or whoever? Dunno.

    I think many of the efforts to preserve/maintain so-called folk music have been attempts to rationalise the unrationalisable i.e. to turn it to stone. The finger-in-the-ear legacy of MacColl, (who HATED pop music & LOVED Stalin) raises the perrenial one: Why sacrifice a stereo head for left-brain mono?
