An anonymous correspondent has revealed that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is investigating athletes suspected of infringing the Olympic Charter while in Beijing.
Each night since August 8, an unknown athlete has posted a blog on China's human rights violations and its treatment of Tibet. Mr. Jack, as he is known to the international press and bloggers around the world, has decided to use the unprecedented media spotlight that is on Beijing now to send out these political messages. But in so doing, he or she has contravened the Olympic Charter, which forbids athletes from making political statements while at the Games.
The IOC, which is trying to uncover the identity of the mysterious Mr. Jack, suspects it is one of seven athletes and one trainer, all of whom are staying in the athlete's village.
